Maryland FAQs
Removing transportation barriers to care for Marylanders is our goal as we serve community members within the state.
Onward grows with the help of partners and as we look to expand our healthcare and transit partnerships we’ll expand within the state.
What counties does Onward serve in Maryland?

Onward’s launch in Maryland means that all Marylanders are served, so long as a transport starts or ends within an active service region and does not cross state lines or enter Washington DC.
Active service regions in Maryland are as follows (subject to change)
-
Frederick County
Can I use a Companion Ride for a long-distance trip?

Absolutely! Companion Rides are designed to remove transportation barriers and sometimes that means going the distance. For long distance trips, (+50 miles) we ask that trips are scheduled at least 12 hours in advance. This allows us to coordinate resources.
Do Companion Rides accommodate rural trips?

Yes! While we’re launching in Frederick County, Companion Rides will be available to rural Marylanders so long as their trip starts or ends in an active service region.
